Student Innovation Showcase Logo

In 2016, the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) released student friendly standards meant to prepare students for the future. Creativity, Collaboration, Critical Thinking and Innovation are at the heart of these standards.  There are similar traits in the Missouri Learning Standards.  Students throughout the region are being innovative everyday in and out of the classroom and the Student Innovation SHOWcase lets them share their ideas and work.

ISTE Student Standards

The Student Innovation SHOWcase has five main categories: Digital Media, AR/VR, Coding, Digital Tech/Art and Maker.  These categories are a guide for what projects could be SHOWcased and by no means all of the possible innovative ideas that could be on display!

Students need to connect their entry to the ISTE Standards for Students, Missouri's State Standards (or the student's district/state standards) and/or NGSS standards

SHOWcase Rules & Entry Information

Student Conference Support

For many years, students from area schools help support different functions of the METC Conference. It provides an authentic experience that is a highlight to both teachers and students. In addition to sharpening their skills in a particular area, these students learn soft skills for professional communication, customer service and troubleshooting. Their support is invaluable in helping the METC conference run smoothly.

Student Help Desk/IT Support

These students provide IT support to the various conference presenters, as well as our attendees. Our METC Student IT Support put their computer and technical skills to work by troubleshooting any issues that may arise during the conference.

Student eNews Bureau

These students assist the EdPlus Communications team in managing the social media platform include the METC Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts. They also conduct interviews with conference presenters and attendees for podcasts, video, written articles and social media. Follow @METCenews and Instagram @METCedplus during the METC Conference.
