ISTE Certification is Now Fully Online!
Due to the extraordinary circumstances that we now face, with closures and social distancing, ISTE and METC will provide ISTE Certification fully online until December 15, 2020. Traditionally, our certification was in a blended format with two days of face-to-face, up to nine weeks of online asynchronous learning and six months to create and submit a portfolio based on the ISTE Standards for Educators.
In place of the required face-to-face learning, learners will attend three virtual sessions via Zoom with asynchronous activities to participate in between. This alternative format allows educators to continue professional learning and acquire skills to support their new roles in virtual instruction.
Please view ISTE’s FAQ document for more information about the program.
ISTE Certification is a competency-based, vendor-neutral certification based on the ISTE Standards. This digital credential recognizes educators who understand how to use edtech for learning in meaningful and transformative ways.

Focused on Pedagogy. Based on the ISTE Standards for Educators.
ISTE is focused on pedagogy, not tools. It’s not about edtech per se, it’s about what you do with the tech to transform learning and improve student outcomes.
For Classroom Educators, Coaches and Library Media Specialists
ISTE Certification helps build a teacher’s professional profile and provides a digital credential to demonstrate mastery and earn recognition for his or her work in using technology to transform learning.
For School & District Leaders
ISTE Certification provides education leaders with a way to identify a school or district’s educators who are leading the way with digital age teaching practices. The certification also provides a vendor-neutral edtech credential that can be used in staff hiring decisions.
METC is one of a few Certification Authorized Providers in the world
designated to offer training.
All METC Trainers are official ISTE Certified Educators! Each of our TEN trainers have experience in a variety of educational settings, including both PreK-12 students, higher education, and adult learning through online and face-to-face formats.
