Getting On Board: Google Lit Trips and Tour Builder

Literature across the curriculum! Immerse readers in culture, geography, history, allusions, and background information by bringing books alive with Google Lit Trips. Get the most out of read alouds and reading groups by also utilizing Google Tour Builder to help students create their own virtual online tours. You can use the information presented to engage your students in a lit trip that will open new worlds, elevate instruction and provide better understandings of literature.

Girls in STEM

Going Google in a High School Math Classroom

Google Forms Add-ons

Room: Windsor I - Embassy Suites Harness the power of Google Forms Add-ons to increase your productivity and possibilities when using Forms! We will explore add-ons such as All Questions Required, Choice Eliminator 2, Docappender, Formlimiter, Form Recycler, and Forms Notifications. These add-ons will help you to minimize setup time, better track responses, allow for easy sign-ups, give feedback on quizzes and assignments, set limits to the number of responses that can be collected, reuse questions from other Google Forms, organize peer reviews, and more! You will leave with a list of Google Forms Add-ons to install and have a working knowledge of how to incorporate those Add-ons into instruction, planning, data collection, and communication with peers, parents, and students.

Google Slides: This isn't Your Grandma's PowerPoint!

Adding collaboration to Google Slides makes it much more than just a presentation tool! In this session, we will discuss ways to increase student collaboration and engagement by harnessing the collaborative power of Google Slides. The use of Google tools to create and collaborate have become more prominent in the past 5 years. Now that many teachers are able to use these tools, we need to learn creative, out of the box ways to use them. We will demonstrate advanced features of Slides that help students create real, meaningful work. This session will help teachers move their student work across SAMR by giving students the opportunity to collaborate on new, rigorous tasks. Finally, we will look at examples of collaborative student projects including ebooks, comic strips, and video galleries created in Google Slides.
