Innovations in Missouri EdTech

We will emerge you in a discussion of school innovations to help you evolve your thinking and elevate the education of your students. The best way to learn about the newest and most promising school innovations is from each other. In this session we will create a “Top Five Innovations in Missouri” list by facilitating a discussion about the newest innovations and technologies found in your schools. We will then present our own top ten list of upcoming learning innovations.

IT Networking Roundtable: Empowering Student Leadership Through Tech

A This roundtable discussion will share ideas, resources and examples of how area schools empower their student leaders to support technology. Area school districts will share their strengths and weaknesses of their student IT Support programs during this session. During this session, you will have time to ask questions, brainstorm and problem solve together in order to develop or strengthen the student leaders in your schools
IT Networking Roundtable: Google Apps For Education: Domain Administration, Management, and Automation
(IT Networking Roundtable - 9:45am - 11:40am)
This session is structured as a forum where you will both learn and share best practices on the efficient management of a GAFE domain. Lead presenters will kick off the discussion with an outline of Google Apps Directory Sync (GADS), Google Apps Manager (GAM), and other tools currently used in your districts. Bring your best tips and pick up a few more as you gain a deeper understanding of how to leverage a variety of management tools, and how to effectively and efficiently manage a GAFE domain.
Just Do It! iPad Projects in the Library
Speakers: Sarah McDonald, Library Media Specialist, Jefferson City Public Schools, MO
In this session you will learn how you can jump right into student centered projects in the library without formal training. Get past the fear and "Just do it." Experienced teacher-librarians share how their students produce original works in the library using various iPad apps such as 30Hands, iMovie, Skitch, Tellegami and more.
Kinderbots: Mindful Block Play for the iGeneration (Poster Session)
Speaker: Mary Meadows, Teacher, Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School
This Poster Session will provide examples of kindergarten engagement in block play with regards to coding blocks. Photos and project samples will be displayed to provide participants with ideas for engaging young children in coding experiences in the classroom.
LAUNCHing Innovation in Your School

21st Century jobs revolve around problem solving, creative thinking and collaboration integrated with technology. Come hear students describe how the use of Thrively and John Spencer's LAUNCH Cycle has transformed them from consumers of content into innovators. From 3D printing to online media design to coding projects, they will share how their time in Innovation Class has allowed them to explore their interests, taught them to wonder and helped them find a global audience for their work.
