Building a curriculum-based media festival that celebrates authentic assessment, project-based learning and gives students ownership and pride in learning is both engaging and empowering for students and teachers. In this session, you will learn how to build and hold a student project-based festival (media festival) for students at the building, classroom, district, or state level. Target all subject-areas and grades or pick an area of focus (examples: marine science, mathematics). Learn the nuts and bolts of several models from a longtime festival director and urban festival cofounder. See fabulous K-12 student examples and take-away rubrics and roadmaps!
