Strand: Library
Room: Grand Ballroom A

You acquired the space, secured the stuff, and invited students but now what? How do we continue to harness the excitement, inspire innovation, broaden the library's purpose, and continue to engage patrons? You will have opportunities to learn about interactions in Makerspace movements, strategies, mobile Makerspaces, practicalities, and programing directions. Just as the librarian is evolving so too are the programming options. The Makerspace movement is an emerging juncture where students can learn and practice innovation skills which can elevate the library's purpose and enhance collaboration opportunities that broaden the library's influence. Discussion will be around innovation topics like: augmented reality, virtual reality, Google products like Expeditions, coding, game design, circuitry, and 3-D printing.
