What began as a simple book club evolved into a collaborative blog, where passionate student readers craft and share book reviews with peers. The Bode Book Review has taken the book club concept and adapted it to our 1:1 technology initiative and our students' love for online writing spaces. It has evolved from a classroom assignment with a limited audience to a continuously updated digital space with a potentially limitless audience. You will explore how to create a thriving online reading community through collaborative blogging. We'll also look at how technology like QR codes, tags, and Google Forms can help build connections to other students, books, and schools. Learn to promote active reading habits among students and encourage positive literacy habits with online and real-time communities, including through service projects.
