Come find out how our team of Library Media Specialists have our district Hooked on Hangouts and how you can replicate this in your school! Our team of LMS working with grades K-12 will show the different approaches each took to help elevate learning beyond the classroom walls in their buildings utilizing Google Hangouts. You will experience a live Google Hangout with individuals from around the world! You will leave knowing how to locate and then connect students to Google Hangout opportunities.

How METC Changed My Classroom

In this session you will learn how I have used knowledge learned from previous METC conferences in my ELA classroom. METC has allowed me to figure out how to not only replace pen/pencil tasks, but to elevate and educate my students in ways that pen/pencil can't. I will cover the nitty-gritty on how I have flipped my instruction and used video, Thinglink, 6 Shot 6 Word personal narratives, Activelylearn.com, Instagram for a character unit, e-portfolios (the beginning) and many more to actively engage my students in the content.
